Basketball Recap: Centennial Coyotes vs. Lake Havasu Knights

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Kellis, Centennial was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They took down the Lake Havasu Knights 46-32.

Leading Centennial to victory were Jolie Galbreath and Madison Jacks. Galbreath posted 16 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals, while Jacks scored ten points and seven assists. That's the most assists Jacks has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Swartz, who had seven points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Centennial was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Havasu only posted four assists.

Vivian Velazquez and Lexi Tuinstra certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Velazquez put up 13 points and three steals, while Tuinstra earned 17 points along with eight boards and four steals. That was a full 53.1% of Lake Havasu's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Centennial's win bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Lake Havasu, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.

Centennial wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-51 defeat against Willow Canyon on the 29th. Lake Havasu has also already played their next match, a 73-23 loss against Sunrise Mountain on the 29th.
