Soccer Game Preview: Johansen vs. Lathrop

The Johansen Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Lathrop Spartans at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Johansen's last four matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Johansen is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Pacheco on Tuesday. Johansen fell just short of Pacheco by a score of 1-0. The Vikings have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lathrop, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Ceres a 3-0 shutout on Tuesday.

Lathrop hit Ceres with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Juan Morales, Alan Hernandez, and Andres Garcia.

Lathrop now has a winning record of 8-7-3. As for Johansen, they now have a losing record at 8-9-3.

Johansen might still be hurting after the 5-1 defeat they got from Lathrop in their previous meeting on January 7th. Can Johansen avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
