Basketball Game Preview: Gadsden Panthers vs. Artesia Bulldogs

The Gadsden Panthers will take on the Artesia Bulldogs in a holiday battle at at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Gadsden will be strutting in after a win while Artesia will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, Gadsden needed a bit of extra time to put away Silver. They managed a 48-43 victory over the Fighting Colts.

Meanwhile, Artesia fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Carlsbad on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 58-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cavemen/Cavegirls. The Bulldogs' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Artesia's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Gadsden, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

Gadsden was dealt a bruising 65-35 loss at the hands of Artesia when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Gadsden avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
