Basketball Recap: Keith Takes a Loss

Keith was the 58-50 winner over Southside when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Keith Bears lost 65-40 to the Southside Panthers on Friday.

When it comes to explaining why Keith lost, don't look at Miles Hannah. Despite the final result, he posted 15 points and six rebounds. Jaquavion McElroy was another key player, putting up four points and three steals.

Keith has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for Southside, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Keith wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 67-62 win against Calhoun on the 10th. As for Southside, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 75-39 victory against Central on the 9th.
