Basketball Recap: Luke Sherman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Dayton over Bernards

Dayton lost against Bernards back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Dayton Bulldogs took a 56-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bernards Mountaineers. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dayton's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Sherman, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 17 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicky Perez, who went 5-for-9 en route to 11 points.

Dayton's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Bernards, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dayton will challenge Mountain Lakes at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Bernards, they are taking a road trip to challenge Hillsborough at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
