Basketball Recap: Druid Hills Red Devils vs. Hapeville Charter Hornets
Even though the Hapeville Charter Hornets scored an imposing 58 points on Saturday, the Druid Hills Red Devils still came out on top. Druid Hills skirted past the Hornets 61-58. That's two games straight that Druid Hills has won by exactly three points.
Several Hornets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jonathan Goldson, who scored 21 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. Goldson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games he's played. Keith Parker was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.
Druid Hills pushed their record up to 14-8 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Hapeville Charter, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-11.
Druid Hills will head out on the road to take on the Golden Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Holy Innocents Episcopal's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 11 contests. As for Hapeville Charter, they and the Pirates will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Stone Mountain is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
