Basketball Recap: Pine Ridge's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

If Lake Brantley wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Pine Ridge, they should've done a better job of containing Serenity Cressor. The Pine Ridge Panthers blew past the Lake Brantley Patriots 68-43 on Wednesday thanks in part to Cressor, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 25 boards. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last 12 games she's played.

Brooke Murray was another key player, putting up 18 points in addition to eight steals and seven boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Lake Brantley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alana Taylor, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Maddie Woodrow, who earned ten points.

The victory snapped Pine Ridge's losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 4-12 record. As for Lake Brantley, their record now sits at an identical 4-12.

Pine Ridge will challenge Freedom at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lake Brantley, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Winter Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
