Softball Recap: Cathedral Catholic Triumphs

Cathedral Catholic won the last time they faced Bonita Vista and things went their way on Monday too. The Cathedral Catholic Dons came out on top against the Bonita Vista Barons by a score of 8-5.

Sophia Clark tossed a big game, pitching 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sina Talataina, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kayla Walton, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Cathedral Catholic's record is now 4-2. As for Bonita Vista, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Cathedral Catholic will take on Imperial in a tournament on Saturday. Imperial will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Cathedral Catholic surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bonita Vista, they will host Mar Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bonita Vista's pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so Mar Vista's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
