Gilmer County will need focus on slowing down Brennen Carpenter, one of several Calhoun players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 18 points in addition to seven assists and seven rebounds. Cooper Morris was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 13 boards.

Even though they lost, Calhoun smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Calhoun has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Gilmer County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.

Gilmer County barely slipped by Calhoun when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 47-46. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Calhoun's Baron Davis, who went 9 of 16 on his way to 23 points and seven steals.
