Volleyball Recap: Wessington Springs Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lower Brule on Thursday, Wessington Springs came back down to earth. The Spartans fell 2-0 to the McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars on Saturday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-14.

Wessington Springs' offense was headlined by Kendall kolousek and Raygen Teveldal, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Logan Mohling and her eight assists. Kerstyn Heim controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Wessington Springs' loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for McCook Central/Montrose, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season.

Wessington Springs has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Tripp-Delmont/Armour on the 27th. As for McCook Central/Montrose, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against West Central on the 27th.
