Softball Game Preview: Liberty Center Tigers vs. Hicksville Aces

The Liberty Center Tigers will take on the Hicksville Aces at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hicksville took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Liberty Center, who comes in off a win.

Hicksville will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Liberty Center extended their winning streak to three on Saturday. The Tigers walked away with a 9-4 win over Miller City.

Mackenzie Fuller made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Fuller was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs.

In other batting news, Macie Krugh was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Hope Atkinson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Hicksville didn't have quite enough to beat Antwerp on Tuesday and fell 4-3. The Aces haven't had much luck with the Archers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Hicksville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mckenna Baird, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Liberty Center's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Hicksville, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
