Basketball Recap: DSST: Green Valley Ranch Takes a Loss

DSST: Green Valley Ranch played a tough matchup on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Kennedy Commanders, falling 75-10. The Raptors haven't had much luck with the Commanders recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Keana Venegas-Alvarez was a one-woman wrecking crew for Kennedy as she almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine steals. Venegas-Alvarez has become a key player for Kennedy: the team is 11-1 when she posts at least five steals, but 3-4 otherwise. Morgan Williams was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

DSST: Green Valley Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Kennedy, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

When DSST: Green Valley Ranch and Kennedy next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. DSST: Green Valley Ranch will try to stop DSST: Montview's four-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Kennedy will take on Denver West and their six-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
