Basketball Recap: Social Circle Takes a Loss

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 80-42, which was the final score in the Social Circle Redskins's tilt against the Greenforest Eagles on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Redskins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 348th, while the Eagles are ranked 36th).

Greenforest's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kevin Harper, who went 6 of 10 en route to 16 points and four steals. Harper is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Orion Wilson, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds.

Social Circle now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Greenforest, they pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Social Circle will challenge W D Mohammed at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Greenforest, they will square off against Putnam County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Putnam County will roll in looking for their 19th straight win, something Greenforest surely won't give up without a fight.
