Volleyball Recap: MMI Preparatory School's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

MMI Preparatory School came into Tuesday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Lincoln Leadership Academy Lions on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in September.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-16, 23-25, 25-18.

MMI Preparatory School's offense was headlined by Alexa Fazio and Cassidy McDermott, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Shreeya Parikh and her 16 assists. McDermott was also solid from the service line: she led the team with nine aces.

MMI Preparatory School's win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Lincoln Leadership Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-7 record this season.

MMI Preparatory School didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Crestwood on the 16th. As for Lincoln Leadership Academy, after both having extra time off, they and Nativity BVM will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
