On Wednesday, Columbus faced Southwest in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Columbus Explorers came out on top against the Southwest Eagles by a score of 3-1. The win was familiar territory for the Explorers, who have now won four games in a row.

Columbus had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 16-25, 25-18, 25-21, 27-25.

Lucas Riva paced Columbus' offense, picking up 18 kills. Riva got some help from Charlie Friguls and his 47 assists. Finally, Matias Claure kept Columbus' defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Columbus' victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Southwest, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Columbus has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Archbishop McCarthy on the 14th. As for Southwest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Wellington on the 14th.
