Incarnate Word Academy had won seven straight games and Avery Buckley did her part to make it eight on Saturday. The Red Knights walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Kirkwood Pioneers with plenty of help from Buckley, who had 20 assists and six digs. She has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more assists the last 22 times she's played.

Kirkwood's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addie Wright, who had 11 digs.

Incarnate Word Academy's win bumped their record up to 20-10. As for Kirkwood, the loss snapped their winning streak at five matches and leaves them with a 16-11-1 record.

Incarnate Word Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Jackson on the 11th. As for Kirkwood, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Central on the 11th.
