Basketball Recap: Shelby Picks Up 12th Straight Win at Home

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Shelby had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They breezed past the Clyde Fliers to the tune of 62-34. The Whippets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 27 points or more this season.

Shelby pushed their record up to 22-2 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points over those games. As for Clyde, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.

Coming up, Shelby will face off against Bellevue at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bellevue knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Shelby likes a good challenge. Clyde does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
