Sherman's game on Friday was all tied up 6-6 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 24-14 win over the Man Hillbillies. Winning may never get old, but the Tide sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Sherman's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eli Pauley led the charge by throwing for 250 yards and three touchdowns, while also punching in one score on the ground. Pauley also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble, making four total tackles, and defending one pass. Sherman's leading receiver Trey Lester was Pauley's top target yet again, picking up 154 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Sherman's defense and their three sacks. Nathan Pratt was especially locked on to Man's QB and sacked him twice. Sherman got some further help from Dawson Green: he picked up a sack, made 22 total tackles (3.0 for loss), and defended two passes.
Sherman's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Man, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Sherman will challenge Tolsia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Man, they will take on Chapmanville Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hillbillies will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
