Basketball Recap: Bacon County Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Santiago Bizzell and Xavier Harris

Bacon County suffered their biggest defeat since November 23, 2024 on Saturday. 2025 welcomed they with a 68-45 loss courtesy of the Brantley County Herons. The loss continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Herons: they've now lost six in a row.

Despite the defeat, Bacon County had strong showings from Xavier Harris, who posted 17 points and three steals, and Santiago Bizzell, who earned 14 points. That was a full 37.8% of Bacon County's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiden Barnes, who put up four points.

Bacon County now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Brantley County, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Thomasville the next time they take the court. Bacon County will host Thomasville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Brantley County will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
