Basketball Recap: Northwest Comes Up Short

Northwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They took a hard 51-34 fall against the Keller Central Chargers. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Texans who fell 52-50 when the teams previously met back in January of 2025.

Asher McKeever was Northwest's leading scorer, having posted six points.

Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 1-25. As for Keller Central, their win ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 7-22.

Northwest and Keller Central could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Texans will challenge Byron Nelson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (1211 vs. 206). Meanwhile, Keller Central (ranked 788th) will meet Southlake Carroll (ranked 277th) at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
