Softball Game Preview: Hamilton Aggies vs. Carbon Hill Bulldogs

The Hamilton Aggies are taking a road trip to square off against the Carbon Hill Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hamilton's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Carbon Hill's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Hamilton's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Tuesday's struggle, when Muscle Shoals hitters got past them. The Aggies took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans on Tuesday.

Emily Jones and Jessica Shotts did some serious damage despite the final result: Jones scored three runs while going 3-for-4, while Shotts went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Darcy Tittle, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Carbon Hill had taken Oakman down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Saturday. The Bulldogs fell 13-10 to the Wildcats. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hamilton's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-17. As for Carbon Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-18.

Hamilton took their victory against Carbon Hill when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Aggies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
