Preview: Pearl River Rebels vs. Abbeville Wildcats
The Pearl River Rebels will head out on the road to face off against the Abbeville Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pearl River is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
After only seven points in their last game, Pearl River made sure to put some points up on the board against Archbishop Hannan on Friday. Pearl River blew past Archbishop Hannan, posting a 58-31 win at home. Considering Pearl River has won three games by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Pearl River can attribute much of their success to Tashod Badon, who rushed for 196 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, and Ziderius Brown, who rushed for 163 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Badon was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 66 yards. Sean Jenkins was another key contributor, rushing for 68 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Abbeville waltzed into Friday's matchup with three straight wins but they left with four. They snuck past Kaplan with a 18-14 victory.
Their wins bumped Pearl River to 6-4 and Abbeville to 8-2.
