Softball Game Preview: Lawson Lightning vs. Glencliff Colts

Lawson is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Glencliff a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Lawson Lightning will be playing in front of their home fans against the Glencliff Colts at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Lawson came up short against Pope John Paul II on Monday, falling 25-10. That's two games in a row now that the Lightning have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Makenzie Cotton and Joi Stewart stepped up to the plate in a big way. Cotton scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Stewart scored a run while going 1-for-4. Cotton has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played. Destiny Steele was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Glencliff lost 11-2 to Antioch on Wednesday.

Glencliff's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Lawson, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.

Everything went Lawson's way against Glencliff in their previous meeting back in March, as Lawson made off with a 26-3 victory. Do the Lightning have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Colts turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
