Basketball Recap: Lexi Bowden Key Part of Team Effort in Titans Win

Triad Baptist Christian Academy won the last time they faced Surry HomeSchool and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Titans strolled past the Runnin' Patriots with points to spare, taking the game 57-43. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Titans.

Triad Baptist Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lexi Bowden led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 12 rebounds. Bowden also grabbed five steals, which is notable because the Titans are undefeated when she posts at least five steals, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Morgan Harrelson, who went 7-for-12 en route to 16 points.

Triad Baptist Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. They are a perfect 5-0 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Despite the loss, Surry HomeSchool still got an impressive performance from Lindsay Easter, who shot 46% from the field on her way to 15 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. That was a full 34.9% of the Runnin' Patriots' points, marking the third time in a row Easter has posted more than a third of the team's points. Khloe Spence was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.

Triad Baptist Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Surry HomeSchool, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Triad Baptist Christian Academy will venture away from home to challenge New Manna Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Surry HomeSchool, they will head out to square off against Greater Cabarrus Athletic Association at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
