Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Houston Academy). They were the clear victor by an 18-0 margin over the Daleville Warhawks on Monday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-2 on Monday.

Whit Price made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Houston Academy is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-9 otherwise. Price was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Cooper Powell looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

Back at the plate, Daniel Guin was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Blake Roberson, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Houston Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

Houston Academy's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9. As for Daleville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Houston Academy will take on Ashford at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Houston Academy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Daleville, they will square off against Dale County at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dale County's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Daleville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
