Briggsdale piles up the points against Weldon Valley

Recap: Briggsdale Falcons vs. Weldon Valley Warriors

With a playoff game on the line, the Briggsdale Falcons rose to the challenge on Thursday. They blew past the Warriors 72-20 on the road. Briggsdale has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Jenna Krise was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 39 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Briggsdale's points. Another player making a difference was Claire Brown, who scored 17 points along with six assists.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ellie Koch, who scored six points along with two steals.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Weldon Valley struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Briggsdale racked up 21 assists.

Briggsdale has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season. As for Weldon Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.

Briggsdale is on the road again on Saturday and plays Prairie at 2:00 p.m. on February 24th. Hopefully Prairie focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Thursday. Weldon Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
