Baseball Recap: Glendora Finds Playoff Glory Versus Costa Mesa

Glendora had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Costa Mesa Mustangs on Friday, sneaking past 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Tartans sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Sebastian Lawrence looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Glendora saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Danison, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Glendora pushed their record up to 21-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Costa Mesa, their loss ended a 13-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 24-7.

Coming up, Glendora will take on Temecula Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Bears will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Tartans surely won't give up without a fight. Costa Mesa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
