Basketball Recap: Middleburgh Takes a Loss

Middleburgh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Galway Golden Eagles, falling 43-14. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-6.

Emma Lacko was Middleburgh's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Kaylynn Layton held things down on the boards with nine rebounds. Lyla Kowalski took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Middleburgh's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Galway, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Middleburgh will be home for the holidays to greet Mayfield at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Mayfield is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.2 points per game this season. As for Galway, they will head out on the road to square off against Johnstown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
