Volleyball Recap: Random Lake Comes Up Short

Random Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Sheboygan Area Lutheran Crusaders, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crusaders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 on September 13th.

Random Lake was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-11, 25-15.

Random Lake's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Sheboygan Area Lutheran, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 7-14.

Random Lake and Sheboygan Area Lutheran could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Rams (ranked 414th) will meet Oostburg (ranked 137th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Sheboygan Area Lutheran will square off against Sheboygan Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (318 vs. 46).
