Basketball Game Preview: Boonville Pirates vs. Moberly Spartans

Boonville and Moberly are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2017, but not for long. The Boonville Pirates will face off against the Moberly Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Boonville will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Boonville saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-40 win over North Callaway.

Meanwhile, Moberly posted their biggest victory since December 30, 2023 on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Salisbury with a sharp 58-35 win. The victory was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on three straight.

Moberly's win came from a few key players Boonville will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mason Bivins, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 14 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Land, who posted ten points.

Boonville's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Moberly, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Boonville came up short against Moberly when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 48-42. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Moberly's Cameron Doubrava, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 17 points.
