Basketball Recap: Cedar Catholic Finds Home Court Redemption Against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge

There's no place like home for Cedar Catholic, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 52-37 win over the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Trojans also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Katelyn Arens had a dynamite game for Cedar Catholic, going 6 for 10 on her way to 15 points and eight rebounds. Bailey Hochstein was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards.

Despite the defeat, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge had strong showings from Rena Rasmussen, who went 7 of 14 on her way to 20 points and eight rebounds, and Carlie Kvols, who posted 12 points. Rasmussen's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Cedar Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Cedar Catholic will take on Wynot on Tuesday. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 59-56 loss against Humphrey-Lindsay on the 10th.
