Volleyball Recap: Sutton Comes Up Short

Sutton was the 2-0 winner over Doniphan-Trumbull when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kamryn Steinhauer paced Sutton's offense, picking up nine kills. Steinhauer got some help from Elsa Andersen and her 14 assists. Lincoln Friesen controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Sutton now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Doniphan-Trumbull, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

Looking ahead, Sutton will take on Tri County at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Doniphan-Trumbull, they will square off against Boone Central at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
