North Mecklenburg had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Independence Patriots. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 3-2 win last Tuesday.

North Mecklenburg had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-15, 25-16, 25-14.

North Mecklenburg was led to victory by Alejandra Lorenzana and Azara Warris. Lorenzana had seven digs and six assists, while Warris had four aces and three digs. That's the most assists Lorenzana has posted since back in September.

North Mecklenburg's victory bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Independence, their loss ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6.

North Mecklenburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Independence, they will challenge McDowell at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
