Softball Recap: White Mountains Spartans vs. Bishop Brady Giants
White Mountains extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping their season record down to 4-13 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bishop Brady Giants. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Giants this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-2 back in April.
As for Bishop Brady, the win (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 17-2-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games.
For Bishop Brady's part, Abby Tyrrell made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Tyrrell has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Payton Bryson, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
