Softball Recap: White Mountains Takes a Loss

White Mountains extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping their season record down to 4-13 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bishop Brady Giants. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Giants this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-2 back in April.

As for Bishop Brady, the win (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 17-2-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games.

For Bishop Brady's part, Abby Tyrrell made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Tyrrell has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Payton Bryson, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Rowan Wood was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.

As of now, neither White Mountains nor Bishop Brady have any future games scheduled.
