Softball Recap: Marsing Comes Up Short

Marsing lost against New Plymouth back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Huskies took a 13-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pilgrims. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brooklyn Roadenbaugh put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and ten unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Lily Thoene was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Dany Daugherty also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Marsing's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for New Plymouth, their record now sits at 10-4.

Marsing didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-6 win against Melba on the 11th. As for New Plymouth, they will venture away from home to face off against Fruitland at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Pilgrims are facing the Grizzlies at the right time seeing as the Grizzlies are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
