If Military Magnet Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Fort Dorchester, they should've done a better job of containing Maricious Dawson. The Fort Dorchester Patriots blew past the Military Magnet Academy Eagles 95-43 on Saturday thanks in part to Dawson, who went 10 for 13 on his way to 27 points and three steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game.

Maurice Cannon was another key player, putting up 12 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. He also grabbed five steals, which is notable because Fort Dorchester is 3-1 when he posts at least three steals, but 2-3 otherwise.

Fort Dorchester now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Military Magnet Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Fort Dorchester and Military Magnet Academy could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings. Fort Dorchester (ranked 102nd) will meet Cross Creek (ranked 13th) at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Military Magnet Academy (ranked 159th) will meet North Charleston (ranked 42nd) at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
