Baseball Recap: James Clemens Has No Trouble Against Florence

James Clemens barely beat Florence the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Jets were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Falcons on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Jets needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Matthew Drinkwater spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Trip Morgan, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two doubles. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hudson Smith, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

James Clemens was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Florence only posted a batting average of .087.

James Clemens' win bumped their record up to 19-9. As for Florence, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-14.

James Clemens will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
