Silver Creek is 0-4 against Broomfield since March of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Raptors will host the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Silver Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
Silver Creek is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since April 24, 2024 on Saturday. They lost 14-7 to Legacy.
Jake Jensen and Connor Lopez did some serious damage despite the final result: Jensen scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Lopez scored two runs while going 1-for-4. Nathen Canfield was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Broomfield). Everything went their way against Monarch on Saturday as they made off with an 18-3 victory. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Coyotes recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Ethan Zufall looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Caden Williamson, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Talan Hutchings, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Broomfield hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive games.
Broomfield's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Silver Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Silver Creek has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Broomfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Silver Creek came up short against Broomfield when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 13-8. Can the Raptors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
