Baseball Game Preview: Bath County Chargers vs. Narrows Green Waves

Bath County hasn't had much luck against Narrows recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Chargers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Green Waves at 5:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Bath County and Eastern Montgomery, and Eastern Montgomery kept the tradition alive. The Chargers came up short against the Mustangs on Thursday, falling 22-12.

O Perdue was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Bath County's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 0-5 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of W Campbell, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Meanwhile, Narrows had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Fighting Blues. The Green Waves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Narrows pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Bath County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
