Softball Recap: Katella Finds Home Field Redemption Against Calvary Chapel

There's no place like home for Katella, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against the Calvary Chapel Eagles by a score of 10-5 on Wednesday. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Eagles on Monday, they had to take a 12-7 defeat.

Dani Neville was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Jazlyn Garcia was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Nataly Rodarte, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Katella was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Katella's record now sits at 12-13. As for Calvary Chapel, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

As of now, neither Katella nor Calvary Chapel have any future games scheduled.
