Basketball Game Preview: Providence Lions vs. Loyalton Grizzlies

Providence is 0-7 against Loyalton since January of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Providence Lions will host the Loyalton Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Providence took a blow against Princeton, falling 57-24. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Loyalton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 73-59 victory over Los Molinos on Wednesday. With that win, the Grizzlies brought their scoring average up to 51 points per game.

Loyalton's win came from a few key players Providence will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Cooper Holland, who posted 20 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ace Armstrong, who scored 16 points.

Loyalton's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-10. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Providence, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.
