Football Game Preview: Berkley Bears vs. Avondale Yellowjackets + How To Watch

Berkley is on a six-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Avondale a four-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Berkley Bears will be playing at home against the Avondale Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. Avondale took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Berkley, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Berkley was able to grind out a solid victory over Northwest, taking the game 37-30.

Berkley had a senior duo take command as Connor Bushey threw for 282 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 81% of his passes and Lucas Schwenn gained 226 total yards and two touchdowns. Bushey's passing game has become a key predictor of the Bears' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-3 otherwise. A healthy portion of Bushey's aerial production (80 yards to be exact) went to Jaylen Kujat.

Meanwhile, Avondale had to suffer through a 35-6 loss at the hands of Royal Oak.

The win got Berkley back to even at 3-3. As for Avondale, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Berkley was dealt a bruising 49-7 loss at the hands of Avondale in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Bears were down 20-0.
