Basketball Recap: Millersport Takes a Loss

Millersport lost against Madison Christian back in November of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Millersport Lakers took a 57-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Madison Christian Eagles. The Lakers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Millersport lost, don't look at Lilly Atkinson. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds. That was a full 38.5% of Millersport's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jenna Schilling, who went 6-for-13 on her way to 15 points.

Madison Christian was led to victory by Lexi Wray and Jasmine Harris. Wray almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine boards, while Harris dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lena Lesko, who went 5-for-9 en route to 10 points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Millersport's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Madison Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Millersport didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 54-9 victory against Liberty Christian Academy on the 11th. As for Madison Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 36-32 win against Granville Christian Academy on the 13th.
