Baseball Recap: Blackwell Takes a Loss

Blackwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 11-1 to the Newkirk Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Maroons of the 15-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Blackwell saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reid Estep, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Blackwell's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Blackwell will venture away from home to challenge Tonkawa at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Newkirk, they will host Perry at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
