Volleyball Recap: Juan Diego Catholic Comes Up Short

Juan Diego Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Judge Memorial Catholic Bulldogs. The Soaring Eagle were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Juan Diego Catholic came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 13-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-23, 15-13.

Ayen Kuath paced Juan Diego Catholic's offense, picking up 16 kills. Kuath got some help from Elizabeth Chesley and her 18 assists. Ila Jacobs controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Juan Diego Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Judge Memorial Catholic, the win snapped their losing streak at six matches and leaves them with a 5-16 record.

Juan Diego Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Jordan on the 25th. As for Judge Memorial Catholic, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Highland on the 25th.
