Softball Recap: East Lake Beats Manatee for Their Fifth Straight Victory

East Lake entered their tilt with Manatee on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Hurricanes. Considering the Eagles have won 13 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

East Lake got a massive performance out of Anna Folger, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits Folger has posted since back in February. Meagan Bostak was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

East Lake always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Manatee only posted an OBP of .154.

East Lake's win bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Manatee, they dropped their record down to 4-14 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Lake will welcome Seminole at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Manatee, they will face off against Hardee at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.41 runs per game on average), something the Hurricanes will no doubt try to take advantage of.
