Milpitas hasn't had much luck against Gunn recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Trojans will look to defend their home court against the Titans at 6:45 p.m. Milpitas will be strutting in after a victory while Gunn will be coming in after a loss.
On Friday, Milpitas sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over MacDonald. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Condor recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Milpitas had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 22-25, 25-21, 25-14, 15-10.
Meanwhile, Gunn suffered their biggest defeat since March 6th last Friday. They came up short against Fremont, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Titans in their meetings with the Firebirds: they've now lost five in a row.
While Gunn had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 21 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-21, 25-22.
Gunn's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Milpitas, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
