Baseball Game Preview: River Forest Ingots vs. Washington Township Senators

The River Forest Ingots will face off against the Washington Township Senators at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. River Forest is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

River Forest had taken Wheeler down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Ingots fell just short of the Bearcats by a score of 6-5.

Jeremiah Brooks made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Walter Jaime, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Washington Township was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 7-1 to South Central.

River Forest's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Washington Township, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

River Forest might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Washington Township in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Ingots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
