Baseball Game Preview: LaVergne Wolverines vs. McGavock Raiders

The LaVergne Wolverines will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the McGavock Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

LaVergne is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They lost 15-2 to Eagleville on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

LaVergne's loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

As for McGavock, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they finished on the wrong side of .500 (10-13), but they'll be hoping to turn things around this year.

LaVergne came out on top in a nail-biter against McGavock in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. Will LaVergne repeat their success, or does McGavock have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
