Basketball Recap: Cooper Allen's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Moriah over Northern Adirondack

Moriah entered their match against Northern Adirondack on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Moriah Vikings fell just short of the Northern Adirondack Bobcats by a score of 69-66. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (57), the Vikings still had to take the loss.

Moriah lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Cooper Allen, who posted 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. His evening made it 23 games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac White, who earned 20 points and six boards.

Even though they lost, Moriah smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in eight consecutive games.

Moriah's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 12-4. As for Northern Adirondack, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Moriah will host Plattsburgh at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Northern Adirondack, they will welcome Peru at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Northern Adirondack is facing Peru at the right time seeing as Peru is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
